Land Resources (भूमि संसाधन)

1. Importance of Land

   • We live, work, and perform economic activities on land.
   • हम भूमि पर रहते हैं, काम करते हैं और आर्थिक गतिविधियाँ करते हैं।
   • Land supports natural vegetation, wildlife, human life, and transport systems.
   • भूमि प्राकृतिक वनस्पति, वन्यजीवन, मानव जीवन और परिवहन प्रणालियों का समर्थन करती है।

2. Finite Resource

   • Land is limited, so it is important to plan its use carefully.
   • भूमि सीमित है, इसलिए इसके उपयोग की योजना सावधानी से बनाना ज़रूरी है।

3. Different Types of Land in India

   • Plains (मैदान): 43% of the land is plain, good for agriculture and industry.
   • 43% भूमि मैदान है, जो कृषि और उद्योग के लिए उपयुक्त है।
   • Mountains (पर्वत): 30% of the land is mountainous, providing rivers, tourism, and ecological balance.
   • 30% भूमि पर्वतीय है, जो नदियों, पर्यटन और पारिस्थितिकी संतुलन का समर्थन करती है।
   • Plateaus (पठार): 27% of the land is plateau, rich in minerals, fossil fuels, and forests.

Land Utilisation (भूमि का उपयोग)

1. Forests (जंगल)

   • Land used for forests and greenery.
   • जंगलों और हरियाली के लिए उपयोग की जाने वाली भूमि।

2. Land Not Available for Cultivation (कृषि के लिए अनुपलब्ध भूमि)

   • Barren Land (बंजर भूमि): Land that cannot be used for farming.
   • ऐसी भूमि जो खेती के लिए उपयोगी नहीं है।
   • Non-Agricultural Uses (गैर-कृषि उपयोग): Land used for buildings, roads, and factories.
   • भवन, सड़कें और फैक्ट्रियों के लिए उपयोग की जाने वाली भूमि।

3. Other Uncultivated Land (अन्य बंजर भूमि)

   • Pastures (चरागाह): Land for grazing animals.
   • जानवरों के चरने के लिए उपयोग की जाने वाली भूमि।
   • Miscellaneous Crops (विविध फसलें): Land under trees and crops not used for farming.
   • पेड़ों और फसलों के लिए उपयोग की जाने वाली भूमि।
   • Culturable Waste Land (कृषि योग्य बंजर भूमि): Land not farmed for more than 5 years.
   • ऐसी भूमि जो 5 साल से अधिक समय तक खेती नहीं की गई।

4. Fallow Lands (पड़ी भूमि)

   • Current Fallow (वर्तमान पड़ी भूमि): Land left uncultivated for less than one year.
   • ऐसी भूमि जो एक साल से कम समय के लिए खेती नहीं की गई।
   • Other Fallow (अन्य पड़ी भूमि): Land uncultivated for 1 to 5 years.
   • ऐसी भूमि जो 1 से 5 साल तक खेती नहीं की गई।

5. Net Sown Area (शुद्ध बोया गया क्षेत्र)

   • Land on which crops are grown and harvested.
   • ऐसी भूमि जिस पर फसलें उगाई और काटी जाती हैं।
   • Gross Cropped Area (सकल कृषि क्षेत्र): Land sown more than once in a year.
   • ऐसी भूमि जिस पर एक साल में एक से अधिक बार फसल बोई जाती है।
