SOIL AS A RESOURCE 

Soil as a Resource (मिट्टी एक संसाधन के रूप में)

1. Importance of Soil (मिट्टी का महत्त्व)

   • Soil is the most important renewable natural resource.
   • मिट्टी सबसे महत्वपूर्ण नवीकरणीय प्राकृतिक संसाधन है।
   • It is essential for plant growth and supports life on Earth.
   • यह पौधों की वृद्धि के लिए आवश्यक है और पृथ्वी पर जीवन का समर्थन करती है।

2. Formation of Soil (मिट्टी का निर्माण)

   • Soil takes millions of years to form a few centimeters deep.
   • मिट्टी को कुछ सेंटीमीटर गहराई तक बनने में लाखों साल लगते हैं।
   • Factors like climate, vegetation, parent rock, and time play a role in soil formation.
   • मिट्टी निर्माण में जलवायु, वनस्पति, मूल चट्टान और समय जैसी चीज़ें भूमिका निभाती हैं।
   • Natural forces like temperature changes, running water, wind, glaciers, and decomposers also help in soil formation.
   • प्राकृतिक बल जैसे तापमान में परिवर्तन, बहता पानी, हवा, ग्लेशियर और सड़नशील जीव मिट्टी के निर्माण में मदद करते हैं।

3. Composition of Soil (मिट्टी की संरचना)

   • Soil consists of organic material (humus) and inorganic substances.
